Sexual Arousal: It’s Levels to This Ish!

Sex is extremely exciting, especially when having a first time experience with someone that you have been craving for so long! Chemistry is high, hearts are racing and each person's body is crying out for that moment of climax and release. Sometimes we can rush through sex just to get to the orgasm, and for many, the orgasm is the definition of sex, but I am here to tell you that there are levels to this!

Sexual arousal isn't a process that takes you from the ground floor to the top in 0.6 seconds. There are actually 10 levels to arousal, level 1 being a resting state and level 10 being the climax. When you rush through the sex, you rush through experiencing and being aware of all the levels in between that take your body through some pretty amazing changes! You wouldn't speed through a beautiful area of scenery that you have never driven through before, so why rush through the arousal states of sex?

TAKE YOUR TIME!

Once you and your partner are face to face in a private setting and have both agreed to get it on, neither one of you is going anywhere. Take the time to sincerely become aware of your body as you lift off from the ground floor of arousal and float through each stage. Really feel how your body warms up when you are caressed and how your brain feels when your lips touch those of your partner's in a passionate kiss. Be aware of the changes your genitals go through as you slip deeper and deeper into sexual ecstasy.

The average woman tends to float around level six of arousal, rarely making it to the orgasm, and that is ok! Sex isn't just about reaching a climax, its about having fun, connecting with your partner and deepening your relationship. Breathing correctly during sex and making sure the mind is connected to the process of arousal will help bring on the female orgasm, but one must FOCUS!

So what have we learned today?

  1. There are 10 steps of sexual arousal
  2. There is no need to rush
  3. The mind must be connected to the sexual experience
  4. Great sex isn't defined by reaching an orgasm
